At Last ... Two Peas in Their Pod

Once upon a time, two peas fell in love.
During their first five years of courtship, the peas’ bond withstood fierce storms, making them realize their love for one another ran deeper than they could have ever imagined. After the peas graduated from college, one went to Macon, GA for the Fellows Program and the other went to basic training in Fort Benning, GA.
One day, the peas received an unwanted chapter in their story. Mr. Pea was going to Iraq. Deployment changed their 2010 summer wedding to a November 21, 2009 wedding, giving them a month to plan. Unknowingly, the Lord had it all worked out through the hearts of many Maconites and a month is all He needed. Blessings rained from the heavens above and the peas were nurtured like never before. Never will they forget the gracious friends and family who filled their special day with infinite amounts of love and joy.
The Lord also knew the big storms that would blow through the peas’ patch the next two years. Through His grace, He placed them right where they needed to be to encourage one another and to be encouraged by other mature peas when the soil was getting washed away from all the rain, exposing their roots. Macon’s soil proved to be life changing for Mrs. Pea as she was rooted in the richness of God’s truth and March 14 will forever be remembered as “The Day a Solider Lived.”
A few months after coming back home, Mr. Pea became a student at Life University in Atlanta, GA. Once again, the peas were split. With a B.S. in Education and August creeping up at rapid speed, Mrs. Pea needed a job in Atlanta and fast! After numerous weeks filled with countless applications, the peas had only one option ... hold onto the truth that God had a plan far greater than their own.
On July 20, 2011, Mrs. Pea began her first day of being a nanny for the most incredible family in Atlanta, GA. Not only did the Lord provide Mr. and Mrs. Pea with the means to survive, He blessed Mrs. Pea with a job that brings her tons of joy. She has the privilege to care for two wonderful children who are teaching her lessons beyond her years.
Well, after almost two years, Mr. and Mrs. Pea finally made it to their very own pod! What an exciting time and gift to be able to not only walk heart in heart, but now they walk hand in hand, side by side, through the garden of life. Every day is an adventure of learning how to selflessly love one another and glorifying their Savior through their marriage.
Every week, something is changing about their pod. They have learned that it takes, time, money, patience, research, time, and creativity to start from scratch and build up their pod. Oh, yeah ... and time. Best of all, it is a blast! They love working together and prove to be a great team.
Mr. and Mrs. Pea are the happiest two peas in a pod and look forward to their new beginnings with great anticipation of seeing God’s hand at work in marvelous ways.
And they lived thankfully ever after in their pod ... together.
